Nathan Biederman is many things. A soldier, a father, a husband, a photographer, an avid fan of Michael Buble. The list goes on… a human male, a Canadian, one of those guys who refers to themselves in the third person… you know...
Nathan was born in Stoney Creek, Ontario. Where is that you ask (or don’t ask and are going to be informed regardless of if you want to know or not)? Well it’s by Hamilton of course! And you know precisely where that is because you actively avoid that city at all costs!
Nathan graduated from McMaster University in 2011 with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and Management, and with honours to boot! For a while he carried around his transcripts to prove his intelligence but it proved fruitless as people didn’t believe him anyways.
After graduation he joined the Canadian Armed Forced as an Engineering Officer. Smart move right? Using the CAF programs to subsidize university education in exchange for obligatory service. Oh wait… no he didn’t do that.
He spent some time in Saint-Jean, Quebec. Close to Montreal, where nothing exciting happened other than training. After Quebec he went to Gagetown, New. Brunswick (the place where souls go to die). Gagetown made him long for the day he was back in Hamilton. Although it was in Gagetown that he met his wife (she was not his wife at the time as that would have been awkward to have met his wife for the first time in Gagetown). He also coat checked a pint glass, had scissors pulled on him at a bar (coincidentally his own scissors) and broke his neighbours couch. But other that that all was pretty tame.
After about a year and a half he was then posted to Petawawa where he currently resides. He got married to his wife, had a child, a second child and two dogs. He hangs out in Petawawa not doing much of anything, because there is not much to do. He longingly looks out his front window hoping a bear will rummage through his trash so that he can make friends with said bear. Wouldn’t that just be a treat!
His philosophy on photography is fairly simple. “Take good pictures. Use bad grammar.” He is not an artistic person, his drawings are terrible and his singing makes people cringe but he seems to have some talent when it comes to photography. At least what appears to be talent. People he know like his photos on Facebook so that seems pretty legit I suppose. Either way, photography is his passion and he is very much critical of his work. Always striving for the best.
